Helmets
All racers MUST wear helmets at ALL times BEFORE the race, THROUGHOUT the race and AFTER the race if you are on a bike. If you don’t want to wear your helmet, walk your bike!
This is a USAC requirement.
Environmentally-Friendly
We’re striving to go cup-free this year. To help please consider the following:
1. Bring your own water bottles / camelbaks to fill at aid stations.
2. Bring your own favorite beer mug (and appetite) for the post-race party – it’s a hoot!
3. Bring your own plates and utensils if possible (please no plastic or paper to help us reduce trash).
We will have utensils and paper plates, but we are trying to reduce our impacts on the environment and will be moving to more sustainable utensils and plates in the future.
Course Conditions
A group of us pre-rode the course on Sunday – it’s in GREAT shape! There is minimal mud, one deep unrideable water crossing and most other water crossings will be covered by bridges. Tire recommendations for this course are tires will smaller treads around 2.1 or 2.2 size. We rode 2.1 Maxxis Crossmarks and they were awesome – you want fast rollers folks. There is minimal sand on the course, the rest is hard pack and smooth sailing!

Bridges – Please Note!
All bridge crossings are mandatory walking bridges by order of the US Forest Service.
If you ride the bridges, there is a possibility you will be disqualified from the race. Many of the bridges will be monitored by Forest Service personnel and they will report your race number to the race director (we could also lose our Forest Service Permit for the event). So please be sure to walk bridges and let other racers know this too so that you get the best experience possible from the race!
