Laramie Enduro – What Do You Love?
A special thanks to everyone who has been involved with our race – thank you!!!
- I love the course, the volunteers are great and the size of the field is very nice – not too crowded.
- It was well organized. The course was well marked. The entry fee was affordable. The food and drink after was great!! I will be back next year!
- first-rate organization and support
- fabulous course
- very reasonable entry fee
- great food at the finish
- Extremely well organized! Wonderful enthusiasm by all the volunteers and coordinators. I have recommended this event to so many people. Keep up the excellent work
- A wonderfully varied course over some really great trails. Nice, laid-back vibe. Very well organized. Great volunteers.
- great volunteeers- great course
- The course was a lot of fun and contained diverse terrain. The diverse terrain also made it very challenging and it was never boring! Plus, you are literally biking on 70 miles of new trail and each pedal stroke puts you over new territory that you had not seen before.
- The organization and volunteers were awesome once again.
- Lots of great singletrack. Seems like quite a bit more since my last race in ’05. Well marked trails, great aid stations, amazing payout for the top 3 riders.
- The course is excellent! The trails are so much fun, it’s easy to forget you’re “racing”. It’s just a really fun day on the bike!
- Awesome support! Wonderfully smooth and organized!
- Absolutely beautiful course! Great post-race meal/beer/music!
- Sweet Course. Volunteers were outstanding! Well organized. inexpensive compared to Leadville
- Great course, great food & beer, Great aid stations, Outstanding volunteers.
- If this had not been a race, I would have enjoyed spending time hanging out at the aid stations visiting with the friendly volunteers and enjoying more of the great food and beverages. This was my first endurance mountain bike race, and I had a great time. Well run event. Perfect weather. Fun time. Thanks
- The course, volunteers, aid stations, and Wyoming. The food is great as well.
- It was very well organized and the aid stations were well stocked with friendly people. I also really appreciated the personal attention from Rich Vincent in helping me get into this year’s race after not being able to make it on last year’s registration. I recommend this race to all of my friends since it is so well done and on such a fun, but challenging, course.
- All the great terrain. Lots of singletrack for such a long MTB event. Great course layout that always kept it interesting and FUN.
- great location, support and aid stations were outstanding, volunteers were awesome
- The course is awesome. The aid stations were well located and supplied. The volunteers did a great job.
- Love the local feel, very sportive group of racers. Great town to stay in, everyone is super friendly.
- Well placed and excellent aid stations: the best food and most helpful volunteers.
- Cannot find a more beautiful site for an MTB race.
- I like everything about the event. The people, rest stops, and of course the route.
- The very challenging course. Great single track combined with some good rolling dirt roads. Excellent volunteers who know how to manage the aid stations properly.
- The course…. well thought out, well marked, lots of single track to keep you on your toes.
- One of the best races anywhere. Great single speed course.
- What a bargain! Love the volunteers at the aid stations. Beautifully organized race, thanks!!
- Support at the aid stations was awesome. The post race food and beverage is always tasty.
- The LE was one of the best races I’ve ever done, great course, fun racing, but best of all was the staff of volunteers that made everything fast, efficient and fun. No waiting in line at packet pick-up, multiple people helping at aid stations, plenty of food and drink.
- Great event, great price, well supported. The single track was fun. Hotels nearby offered affordable rates. Had WOMEN’s size event t-shirts!! Great prize money. Would do the enduro anyday over an MSC race.
- great organization
- The volunteers, the hometown feel, great party afterwards, smooth packet pick up, varying terrain.
- great volunteers at the aid stations. one of the best vibes of any event ive done.
- the course, the weather, the aid stations! everyone was nice and polite! love the 7 start time, venue is easy to get to, like the loop rather than an out and back and how the terrian changes often. The food at the end is amazing! I could wait to get to the end to eat!
- Hard, fast, fun!
- The course was great fun. so much variation. I could have done without the waist deep water crossings.
- The organization, volunteers and the course itself are excellent. This is one of my favorite races.
- The first aid stations… the course… scenery especially between 4 and 5
- Scenery, riding, convenient location
- Variable terrain and awesome volunteers. Post race food and drinks hit the spot!
- Great challenge, awesome single-track, great aid stations, hazards were well marked, awesome post race food, beer and prizes! I will be back!!
- The course is Awesome and It really has no peers. 111K point to point with such epic and varied terrain, truely a masterpiece.
- Awesome course! Very well organized. Well stocked aid stations. Great post race food/beer.
- Great mix of singletrack and dirt road; technical and smooth. Awesome scenery when I remembered to look up. Great aid stations and volunteers. Not too big of an event hence nice down home friendly feel. Excellent post race buffet. Good challenging distance but not too much; good for those who are in shape and doable for those whose training has been lacking like mine was. Simple check-in process. Affordable price.
- Wow, um… nearly everything? Seriously, this was one of the best events I’ve attended. Very well run, course markings were mostly easy to follow, aid stations were awesome (station #3 was my favorite!), beautiful area, super fun and ripping fast singletrack. Will definitely be back next year.
- The organization, the volunteers, the “supplies” at the aid station.
- The course was fantastic. The aid stations were organized and very helpful, fully of upbeat volunteers.
- This ride was wonderful. The course was challenging with a nice variety of trails, the views were spectacular, the aid stations were convenient and the volunteers were helpful and encouraging. The number of riders seemed just right as there wasn’t alot of congestion on the single track.
- I love the course especially the single track. I love that you limit the number of participants. If this race got bigger, I would not do it.
- Great mix of fun single track and rolling fire roads to fuel up on. Ridiculous waist deep water/mud zones
- Great course…. Aid stations were well stocked and in great locations.
- Everything. Not a single complaint. I suspect you’ll hear about pple getting lost/wrong turns. Well, I am an idiot and I didn’t get lost but then again I race/ride with my eyes up. Many folks don’t.
- Maybe bridge the crazy mud holes? Easier said than done, I realize.
- The course is amazing!..perfect mix of roads, single track and mud! Organization is top notch! Great event in a great setting! Keeping the entry fees low is key!
- Great aid stations, great volunteers, great selection of food, drink, etc.
- not too expensive. Big race, but not too many people. Very easy going. GREAT GREAT FUN COURSE. By far the best value endurance race around.
- This was my first time riding the Enduro. I found it to be very organized. The aid stations and volunteers were great. I really enjoyed how the course was laid out — how each section of the course had a different singletrack trail. Super cool.
- Great support at Aid Stations, great post-race scene, great course!
The Laramie Enduro is permitted in cooperation with and under authorization from the USFS – Medicine Bow National Forest.

Terrific Event!!! Great course, great volunteers, great aid stations. This is a mountain bikers race, none of this pansy roadie on dirt stuff you see at so many other endurance events. I will definitely be back!
Loved the race! Tougher than I thought it would be as the last 20 miles pounded my ridged SS and myself….. but after a few cold brews at the post race party the memories began to turn pleasant. Great aid stations and crew. Hope to be back next year if the lottery gods are kind. Thanks Rich for a memorable time!
Loved it! Thanks volunteers, sponsors – and especially to Rich Vincent. You worked your tail off this year to make this race happen and we all greatly appreciate it – thank you!
Well worth the 10.5 hour drive from Kansas City. I will be putting my name in the lottery for next year. Bringing the family to do some exploring in the area next year. What an awesome opportunity for Laramie and Cheyenne to promote the area.
Waaay cool! My first enduro-most impressed as to how well the event was organized, administered, and operated. It was amazing how well we were taken care of by the volunteers and event staff. Thanks to all of those who waited out in the hot sun for us and cheered us on, filled up our camelbaks, and kept us going! It was a humbling, amazing, awesome day and I hope I get to come back next year. THANK YOU
Great race. Tough course, painful but fun to do a real MTB course versus most much smoother ultra’s. Well run, well marked and friendly volunteers
Better than Leadville and a way better value. Kudos to volunteers, trail marking and aid stations. Would have loved fewer bogs, but New Belgium at the finish made up for it…

Fantastic Event!! Even better than in 2007 which was my first time! Huge Kudos to Rich and his entire crew. You pulled off the best race ever and the new re-routes were just great. The course was simply a pleasure to ride, just enough single track and then some cruiser miles on jeep tracks too. LOVED the bridges over the bogs. HUGE improvement, and I didn’t mind walking them one bit. The city of Laramie should be so proud of this event. The Volunteers are the best I have seen, the aid stations are wonderful. And the delicious dinner at the finish was divine. So well run, and a value for the price. I hope I can get in again year after year- We need to stop telling folks how great this race is so our chances of making the lottery entry are better. Rich – thanks for all the years you have put in. You have created something wonderful. Long may it endure!!!!!
Rich- congrats again. Missed not having some filled water bottles at the aid stations. Otherwise——-perfect.
Really need a 60+ category. I can’t hang with the 50 year olds anymore.
Why not? It will encourage us older folks. Give it some thought please.
Many sanctioned races now have a 60+ category.
I’ve been lucky to be in CO the past three summers. Aid station support has been fantastic at Firecracker, Leadville Silver Rush, Breck B-100,68,36….But THE ENDURO is tops, hats off to all the volunteers and well wishers. See you next year!
Thanks again Rich, and all volunteers. This is a great race with the best organization and support. Special thank you to the racers that stopped to help with my messed up bike and shoulder, bike’s OK and the shoulder will heal. Cant wait till next year.
Great event, my second year and it was well organized. The course was great with clear markings and course marshalls at the key locations, the aid stations were outstanding and the after race party/dinner was amazing. I only hope Rich will keep doing this event as I am sure if is all consuming. Hope to be there next year.
Thanks,
Mel

Hats off to Kathy, Rich and all the wonderful volunteers who make this race possible — great job again this year! The course was, well… a bit dry and dusty probably due to the fact that we decided to not camp out Friday where in previous years (’08, ’09, ’10) it seemed to rain almost all night. I am now appreciating the value of a little rain the night before
— next time we will camp! Thanks again for organizing this event.
3rd year at this event and I love it because of its consistency….its always a great course, great people, plenty of aid, and great volunteers. Remains to keep to the local feel. Thanks again Rich and Kathy for a great event. By the way, very nice shirt with registration. Thanks!
Thanks for the great race. I can’t fault a single thing. Fantastic course with perfect variety, great aid stations, volunteers, location, etc. The organizers provide great communication and details before the race, and the entry fee was very reasonable, It was an awesome time! The folks in Laramie do things right. I will be back!
2011 was my first Enduro and I think it is a stellar event! The volunteers, aid stations, course, and post-race feed were top notch. The feed zone assistance was amazing – such nice, encouraging and helpful folks. Each station had anything I could have dreamed of and the volunteers made it that much better. The course was extremely well-marked. Having volunteers at key intersections or tricky spots was so helpful. The spread of food at the finish was perfect. Thanks for everything. What a great race.
This is the best-run enduro in the region. Me and my bros recommend this race to all interested parties, due to the beautiful setting, do-able but challenging course, high % singletrack, affordable entry fee, and the absolute best volunteers, support, and cheery, well and diversely-stocked aid stations. Definitely helps to know that every 10-15 miles you’ll see a friendly face with food, drink, bug spray, sunscreen etc. LT100, Growler, 40 in Fort take note.
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who helped out at the aid stations, who swept the course, who took care of all the heat exhausted and injured racers, to the paramedics, to the organizers, to the cleanup crew, to the trail builders. You all made this race a huge success. This is definitely the best endurance race, and it’s because of all of you. Thank you.
Great race! Fantastic volunteers. Nasty barbwire. Providing filled water bottles at aid station is good idea. Larger tent at the finish providing shade for more people would have been better for hanging out, eating, enjoying band.
Great Race, from camping and smooth start to the race to the tasty hot food and cold New Belgium beer at the finish! Thanks for encouraging less waste~ I saw some amazing beer mugs~ some made from Laramie potters! Kathy, you put on a great event! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success! Already looking forward to next year~
This course offers something for everyone! Technical sections for those that love em’. Fast rollers for those can ride em’. Great atmosphere for the partiers. And then for guys like me…great opportunities to walk my bike in exotic areas of WY I’ve never seen before!! Love it.
One thing in common w/all the comments: the great volunteers! They made the race. So supportive and friendly. One small suggestion: maybe miles-to-go markers through the race? I’ve raced mtn bikes all over the country and this is one of the best organized, and fun, races. Congrats.
Awesome job! The aid stations and volunteers were so helpful and brought a smile to my face. Course was fun, a real mtb course. This is so much better than Leadville! Hope to get in again next year. Too all that made this race possible . . YOU ROCK!
Thank you for a memorable day,
Barb Schultz
As always, a great race! Not for the faint of heart. Great diverse course, laid-back attitude, helpful volunteers, and very fun after-event.
Third year, great event again. I am amazed at all the course marshals you have, especially those in the out there alone in the woods. Also, very well marked course, aid stations awesome as usual.
One suggestion, since the trees are now gone from finish and post race venue, maybe see about putting up some shade tents/tarps. Hope to be there next year.
Holy buckets – such great comments – thank you, thank you, thank you! We’re all very humble and so proud of the event. Please take note that your kudos go a long, long way and will be shared with our volunteers and everyone directly involved with the Laramie Enduro!
We’ll always do our best to make this the best endurance mountain bike race with the best course, scenery, volunteers, course marking, aid stations, race registration, pre and post race communication, and post-race party. Thanks everyone for your comments and we also appreciate your ideas on how we can make the event even better next year!
Awesome event! I was extremely impressed with all the volunteers. They all were friendly and were always smiling. Great event! I will be back next year. The only suggestion I have is to either reduce the amount of people starting at the same time or have a longer road section before the 1st single track starts to avoid the log jam at the beginning. Not that big of deal but it would be nice to establish your position a little bit. Thanks again!
Sweet course, well run, super volunteers. When do you think the results will be posted?

Wow, another well run event. The course was great, the aid stations were well run, and the after party was awesome … now that the trees are gone it would be nice to have tents to get out of the heat.
I’ve done the race twice now and will try to be back next year.
Thanks to all the awesome volunteers! Great, if tough, event!
My review of this years event: http://www.pahasapatrails.com/blog/2011_07_31_laramie_enduro_review.html
What an awesome event, a little bit of everything, fast, slow, smooth, rough, and even better laid-back and affordable. I just hope I can get in again next year!
Enjoyed the heck out of it. I can say this now in retrospect, but for me it was a tough race. Guess I wasn’t prepared for the last part up the Old Crow Challenge. Well laid out course, plenty of singletrack, great volunteers & spectators cheering us on. May be back to try to crack 7 hours!
Thank you very much for such a great event. I have done a handful of Laramie Enduros and each one has been awesome. This year I suffered one of the worst days I have ever had on the bike, but the course and the fantastic volunteers pushed me to the finish. Although I vowed never to return and to give up racing about 100 times on the course this year, I will be back and plan on racing many more Enduros. Thanks again.
Oh yeah, the shot of Old Crow at the base of Headquarters was like a magic elixir.
What, I missed the Old Crow shot? That could have improved my time!!!
Great job! The course marking this year was great, and the volunteers are so wonderful. This is my third time and I’ll be back for more.
Thanks for a great event!
… Yes, and marking the dangerous sections was very helpful.
Awesome event, and my favorite endurance race. The aid stations are the best by far of any event I have entered. The course was sweet, with just the right mix of everything. I was so pleased to learn the week of that I made it off the waiting list and that I could race. Not many races would take the time to do this at short notice. Well Done!
Wow – I love this race! It feels very “small town”, more of a community event than a commercial one. The course is awesome – well marked, scenic and with tons of variety. The aid stations and volunteers were outstanding. Loved the food and beer after the race with entertainment and prizes to boot. Thanks for pulling this together year after year – it feels like a labor of love and you (and Laramie) should be proud.
I agree with all the great sentiments shared above. I loved my first enduro event and that is obviously because I chose the Laramie Enduro.
I do want to express my dislike of thelottery system, however. I know it affected the overall numbers (which were down). The lottery itself may not be such a huge problem- but the delay in finding out if we had been accepted caused a lot of folks to bag (especially since the Steamboat Stinger popped into the mix). I foundit hard to keep training while having no idea if Iwould be raicing 110K or looking for another short race to fill the gap.
Thank you for your input Jennifer – we heard the same from other participants and plan to move registration up earlier in the year. We’ve also been working on how we can improve registration and had a board meeting this week. More info to come on our website. And thank you so much for joining us at our event!
Great race today! As always, well organized, great course, great volunteers, and lots of fun. I have raced some other endurance races put on by other organizers and they don’t come close to the “everyman’s / everywoman’s endurance race” feel that the Laramie Enduro has. Everything is so laid back yet well organized; it’s perfect.
